What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable treatment containing hyaluronic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it isn't used to create volume or define facial features. Instead, it is designed to improve skin hydration and quality, making it particularly useful when the skin looks dehydrated, crepey, dull or less firm.
It can be used on areas including the face and neck, depending on your individual needs and suitability.

Who is Profhilo suitable for?
Profhilo can be suitable for a range of adults who are looking to improve skin quality rather than change their facial shape. During your consultation, we'll look at your skin, discuss what you'd like to improve and consider your medical history and suitability. I'll then explain whether Profhilo is the right option for you. Sometimes another treatment may be more appropriate. You don't need to know which treatment you need before you come.
What does the treatment involve?
Profhilo is administered through a series of small injections into specific points of the treatment area. The treatment itself is relatively quick. You may experience some redness, tenderness, swelling or small raised areas at the injection points afterwards. These usually settle as the product disperses and the skin recovers. You'll receive full aftercare advice following your treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Profhilo is commonly carried out as a course of treatments, with appointments spaced apart to allow the skin time to respond. The exact treatment plan will depend on your skin and your individual goals. We'll discuss this during your consultation rather than automatically recommending the same course for everyone. Results develop gradually as the skin responds to treatment.
Profhilo, SkinPen or Polynucleotides?
It can be confusing when you're looking at different injectable skin treatments. They can all form part of a skin rejuvenation plan, but they work differently.
Profhilo
Primarily focuses on hydration and improving overall skin quality, firmness and elasticity.
Polynucleotides
Focus on supporting skin regeneration and improving the quality and resilience of the skin.
SkinPen
Uses controlled microneedling to stimulate the skin's natural healing response and collagen production.
There isn't one treatment that is best for everyone. Your skin and your goals determine what I recommend.
